As you should know flirting is fun and it's purpose is to get to know someone of the opposite sex better and perhaps start a relationship.  Is that politically correct or what?

Flirting is really about creating sexual tension with the other person.  Flirting is the mating dance for almost all species.  Birds, rabbits, elephants, whales and fish all do a mating dance.  It is built into their systems.
